Moses not only honored God in the way that he lived, but also in the way that he died. When Moses died he left a legacy of faith and trust.

In part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4 of the lessons from the life of Moses series we learned about the blessings from God through Moses and his teachings. Continuing in the blessings of Moses to the tribes of Israel, Moses, next blessed the tribes of Zebulan, Gad, Dan and Asher. But I am going to let you finish reading Deuteronomy chapter 33 on your own to hear about them.

Now you might ask, Terri, why did you take so much time to review each of these blessings?

In talking about the Life of Moses, we’ve been reading in part 1, part 2, and part 3 about the blessings he gives to each of the tribes of Israel prior to his death. Today we’ll pick up with the tribe of Joseph.

In this third session from the Life of Moses series, Moses turns his attention to the Nation of Israel and he leaves them with God’s words of blessing prior to his death. Moses shows us that God blesses his people.

Though the people would disobey and reject God, we see the faithfulness of God to bring blessings, despite their disobedience and suffering the consequences of it.

Moses Last Words of Praise and Blessing

Moses begins his last words to the people of Israel in Deuteronomy 33:2 by praising God from whom all blessings flow!

Remember Herod and Herodias? Well, neither of them took heed to the counsel of God through John the Baptist. In fact, the scriptures reveal that Herodias nursed a grudge against John the Baptist and resented His rebuke.

It was a Sunday morning and my husband and I had a difference of opinion over our son while sitting in a restaurant before church…We had yet to order and I really wasn’t hungry! (Unusual for a girl like me) I have learned the importance of eating at least something for breakfast rather than going without until lunch time, which used to be easy for me to do!

As I sit here 33,000 feet in the air, I am given a small glimpse of the grandeur of God’s view of the world He created. I have gained a new Godly perspective.
